Mastering Jeff Derringer, the US artist Jeff Derringer makes a welcome return to the Soma ranks with a brand new EP backed with an absolute ripper of a remix from O/V/R. Derringer has been working hard in the studio and the Chicago native drops 3 epically produced burners on the Radio Therapy EP.
The EP opens with an almost contemplative mood as title track Radio Therapys subtle broken beats merge with dystopic pads and trippy synths. Murder Mile sees a powerful stepped up sequence rattle the heart of the track while yet more lush pads and cleverly programmed drums keep things moving. The pairing of Regis & James Ruskin are up next with their O/V/R project remix of Radio Therapy. They turn Derringer’s original into a dark, stepping, buzz-fed warehouse killer. Technique closes the EP with its deceptively dark yet old school feel.
