Mark Henning makes a welcome return to Soma Records with the sublime Sunday Slide. A multi faceted release that definitely has something for everyone!
Title track Sunday Slide’ is fantastic, deep affair. A simplistic house beat is slowly added to by well-crafted synth work that opens and flows perfectly throughout the track.
On the flip, ‘You’re Digging Into Me’, is a catchy house number with a baseline that is sure to stick in your head! Mark crafts another deep groove that sits perfectly beneath a funked out baseline tripped out by feedback delays. This is a perfect mid set track to get the dance floor moving!
Closing out the EP is ‘Royal Flush’ which straddles the boundaries between House and Techno. A bouncing yet deep groove works this track with almost discordant stabs flickering throughout give the track a very eerie, dark edge.
Mark once again shows his skills as a producer who can easily manipulate & merge sound to forge his own unique style.
