Soma Skool returns! Learn how to make music with Ableton at Shoogle/Glowcast studios

My studio partner Simon Stokes has launched another sold out Soma Skool class, starting on the 4th of September 2013 in Glasgow.

Simon (Shoogle studios) has teamed up with Soma Records in Glasgow to offer a brand new beginners course in electronic music production. During this 8 week night class you will be taught by Soma artist Simon Stokes (Petrichor) in the art of creating music using computer software Ableton Live 9 – the latest and greatest software for electronic music production. With over 6 years experience working as an Ableton tutor, releases on record labels worldwide including Soma Records and international touring experience as a DJ and live act you will be learning from an industry professional.The course consists of 8 x 2-hour evening sessions, focussing primarily on electronic music production techniques, although the same skills can be applied to a wide variety of genres. Each session will consist of 90 minutes of tuition and 30 minutes of practical time where you can get personal help with any questions or problems that you might have. The sessions will be backed up by a complete set of course notes, as well as a USB pen drive containing example sets, a custom sample pack and links for further reading.The focus of the course is on creating your beats and sounds from scratch rather than using pre-produced loops. This way, you can truly say that you own the music you create. Don’t worry if you have no music making experience at all – the course is designed for complete beginners and is taught in an open and friendly way, all questions are welcomed.
